How to fix the "Another backup job is still running. Backup skipped" error

Overview:
My Macintosh computer hung when I was doing a backup to the Maxnet cloud, and I had to crash out of BackupManager, unbeknown to me this left a hidden file which meant that BackupManager thought it was still working.
I got my hints from the Maxnet support page.

Procedure:

1) Locate where the file called "running" which is what is preventing your backup from working. for me this was located at ~\.obm\ipc\BackupSet\1308092845480
For you it might be in the ~\.abc folder, both the ~\. folders are hidden, so you will need to find some program that allows you to view hidden files
the number at the end will also be different for you, since this is unique to each site.

2) Make a duplication of the "running" file Just click on the file and do Command D

3) rename the duplicated file "stop" This will tell the backup processor to stop doing the backup

If you have a different operating system you will need to think a bit more, but I'm sure it is the same principle as I have outlined above.
